I recently bought a present for a friend – a mindfulness mug saying “Live for today” on it 😊
It reminds me of something that was quite profound for me when I first started mindfulness. The present moment is the only thing that is truly “real” – everything else is a thought in our head – a past memory or a future thought. It can be nice to recall old memories or make plans for the future as long as we don’t spend too much time doing this as we are *missing* what’s actually real – the present moment I.e. *now!*
