I am pleased to hear that Virgin Trains have launched a mindfulness channel. I’m a big fan of being mindful during travel time, I’ve written before about my mindful driving and I regularly meditate on the train (well I’m there anyway, so why not actually be there!).

Being mindful really can be done all day – when you’re eating – eat, walking – walk, reading – read … you get the gist! It’s all about bringing your attention to what you are doing or to who you are with and gently letting thoughts go by not engaging in them. Of course, if your chosen activity is to think, for example about a project you are working on, then use mindfulness then – apply functional thinking and do your best to let the other brain psychological “chitter chatter” go – no need to engage it, believe it or listen to it.
